How interesting that Senator Janet Hume finds 10% a 'nice round number'. One inference to take from this is that we in modern Australia have problems with numbers above ten or with fractions. I wonder if she felt at all uncomfortable with the number '17' which is most likely the number she was on as a superannuant at Monash University: I'm guessing - Unisuper negotiated 17% several years ago with members working full-time in universities, and many full-timers are with Unisuper. Maybe Senator Hume was a casual,like me, and was on a much lower figure. What fund the Senator is in is her business. What figure are members of Parliament on? 17%?
